Mobile, Liquid, Light
Mobile. Liquid. Light. These are the three words that best summarize what we think we need to do.
We’d like to stay mobile. For now, we’re not going to buy a house that we will outgrow in a matter of two to three short years. We’re not going to put down deep roots. Not, yet, anyway.
We think it might be a good idea to stay Liquid. We want to be able to help people and organizations that we like, and we want to help our kids with college if we can. We’ll have to learn to cut costs, and get more responsible with our income.
We’d like to get Light. Or, lighter… get rid of the ton of stuff that sits in the garage. Get rid of the extra, outdated clothes hanging in the closets. Throw out the coats with broken zippers, and all the mismatched socks. I googled quotes on simplicity yesterday and was struck, first by how many there are, and second by the content of them, which basically boils down to: less stuff, more happy.
- A family experiment to see if we can free ourselves from the clutter of modern life and the ideas we come across while trying it.
